People who behave morally don’t generally do it because they have greater knowledge; they do it because they have a greater sensitivity to other people’s points of view.

Houseboat Eats: How to preheat your pan
The water “hovering” over the stainless steel pan like mercury happens due to the phenomenon known as the Leidenfrost effect. You can read more about it on wikipedia, but the basic idea is this: at a certain temperature known as the Leidenfrost point (roughly around 320˚F for water, but varying with surface and pressure), when the water droplet hits the hot pan, the bottom part of the water vaporizes immediately on contact. The resulting gas actually suspends the water above it and creates a pocket of water vapor that slows further heat transfer between the pan and the water. Thus it evaporates more slowly than it would at lower temperatures. At the proper temperature, a similar effect happens with the food you place in the pan, preventing the food from sticking.

Garia Soleil de Minuit Golf Cart
We always appreciate it when companies are upfront about their outrageous pricing, so when we saw that the Garia Soleil de Minuit Golf Cart ($52,000) was being hailed as “the world’s most expensive golf car ever made by a manufacturer,” we knew we had to check it out. Sure enough, it packs in plenty of crazy features for those of you who spend more time on the course than you do at your mansion, including a carbon roof, custom paint, two-colored, hand-stitched seats, alcantara roof lining, a LED speedometer, custom wheels, and an available built-in refrigerator. It is quite expensive, but that’s the price you pay to be able to boast that your Porsche and your golf cart were made in the same factory.
what you loved when you were nine or ten « fenced lot
“I’ve found that your chances for happiness are increased if you wind up doing something that is a reflection of what you loved most when you were somewhere between nine and eleven years old. At that age, you know enough of the world to have opinions about things, but you’re not old enough yet to be overly influenced by the crowd or by what other people are doing or what you think you “should” be doing. If what you do later on ties into that reservoir in some way, then you are nurturing some essential part of yourself.”

Color + Design Blog / Color Wonders of the World by COLOURlovers :: COLOURlovers
The natural world will forever be our greatest source of color inspiration. Not a day or season goes by without being able to find a profound experience of color: After the white snow melts away taking with it the stark contrasts of bare tress and black shadows, the grass’s green becomes richer each day, until one day. And as quickly as the first transformation happens, an opposite and equally powerful transition takes place. The green retreats, fading into shades of grey and making way for the falling white to come again.
In appreciation for these very colors I have selected, some of the world’s richest, most powerful color experiences, that if given a chance to view in a non-RGB setting that opportunity should be grasped.
Consumer Goods Suck Up Surprising Amounts of Water : Discovery News

AFP: Australian researchers say fat is ‘sixth taste’
